98 hesitates when acclerating

my 98 hesitates when you take off after stopping,when it hesitates i let off the acclerater for a bit and put my foot back in it and it no longer hesitates,it did not do this until after i filled up monday,i know its not spark plugs and wires they were replaced a few weeks ago

My 2002 Sport was doing this a while back. My problem was leakage in some air hoses. I can't really remember which one was the main problem, but when I replaced it, it made a big difference...something to think about at least.

What could cause this?? I have 2001 Ranger XLT 2.3 DOHC 16V

My hesitation was fixed by changing my fuel filter [135k]
