Received this code. Reset it. Came back again. Replaced Gas Cap(generic from autozone) not sure if it makes a difference. Light stayed off for a while but while driving to work, I hit a lake on a dark road. Light came back on and has been with me since. I can smell gas from time to time when exiting my vehicle.
I have followed every vacuum line I can find and see no problems. removed the management valve from under the battery, even dismantled it just to see the innards. No problems there.
Cannister up under spare appears to be good. Gas fill neck although it looks old doesn't show any obvious cracks or holes. Hoses to tank from neck again look old but no obvious holes.
No leaks in fuel tank and MPG is holding steady at 19. Truck still runs well.
I'm at a loss! I figure I'll start with replacing the neck and hoses to tank since they look the worst. Any ideas where I can get a new neck? Any other ideas about the leak? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
