i have a 98 xlt 4wd and my stock radio had the common problem of the display going out which didnt bother me but the radio itself would turn on and off randomly , anyways my girlfriend bought me a new kenwood headunit for my birthday thinking it would fix the problem but it didnt, it still turns on and off and i dont know why, i know all my wiring it correct but im guessing its a ground problem somewhere but im not sure where.. if anyone has had this problem or has any idea how to fix it please help me!! thanks

Man that really sounds like a ground wire to me.....try running another ground wire. gl

i ran another ground from the back of the head unit to my chasis and still the same thing :( someone please tell me youve had the same problem and have a solution, this is so frustrating

Check your ignition source wire & your constant hot wire (red) There could be a break in one of those as well.

I also know on Keenwood's that if there is a bad speaker conection the radio will turn off as well bit I didn't think the factory HU did this.
