98 XLT. Rough idle and stalling problem.

for about the past month or so, somtimes it idles rough and wants to stall, but if you give it some gas it usaly stoped, but now it does it bad, when your driving its fine but as soon as u hit a light the rpm drops to like half way below 1, and wants to stall. it hasent actualy ever stalled yet because i always hold the brake and give it some gas but its wants to.

i tryed some fuel system cleaner - no good
changed the air filter - no good

i messed around with a few thing but no luck so any ideas?

i dont know if the check engine light is on because it was cut before i bought the car....

also im not 100% but i feel like i hear prity loud sucking sound coming from under the intake manifold could it be a vaccum hose?? and how much of a project is it to remove the manifold?

Which engine & codes?

Which engine do you have?

Is the check engine light on?

Have you tried cleaning the IAC valve?

Has it been more than 30,000 miles since you replaced your fuel filter?

Have you tried cleaning the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner?

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. Check the intake manifold gaskets & vacuum lines for leaks.
