99 4.0 4x4 no speedometer please help ?

Help me please no speedometer 99 ranger4x4 4.0.I Already changed rear speed sensor check engine light is on and code is speed sensor where is it located please help me?

The speed sensor is in the rear axle. You said you replaced it. Maybe check the conection again. I'm guessing your ABS light is on too?

I have checked all fuses and connections also changed sensor on top of tranny.
Also does anyone know how 2 check the connecters wiring harness 2 speed sensor and what fuse has anything to do with the speed sensors 1999 4x4 xlt 4.0 auburn gear 4.10 .everything looks good in diff 2

The speed sensor is in the top of the the diff., not the trans. If you have not changed that one, I would. Should solve the problem

First thing I changed was the sensor on top of the diff still no speedometer still p0500 on the check engine light

Maybe there is some damage on the inside of the differential which causes the pulses for the speed sensor. I don't think this uses a regular gear, but it's more like the set up inside of a distributor. It has a part called a reluctor, and uses something called a magnetic pick up. It works on a principle called the Hall Effect. Look at this link for a better understanding of this.
