I have a 99 Sport not sure which alternator I have. Though I need to upgrade because of amp, keeps draining battery. I think it's only a 95A but I'm not sure. Can i just swap over a Limited or Eddie Bauer?

if you're battery is going dead, chances are it isn't because you're alternator is too small. it only takes a couple amps to run a vehicle, maybe 30 if the headlights are on, a/c is on full, and everything else is running.

do you have extra load on you're electrical system? such as a bunch of gigantic halogen lights, or a ridiculously huge subwoofer? (10kw or more)

have you measured voltage at the battery, with the engine running, and electrical items (lights, fan, etc) off? it should measure 13.8 volts (approx). that voltage should stay above 13, even with everything running.

4.0L OHV alternator is different than the 5.0L V8 and 4.0L SOHC V6 (which share an alternator application).

So you can swap from Ltd/EB if it has a OHV only.

Lots of aftermarket options out there for the OHV. I know because I recently upgraded my alternator for my EB (5.0) and came across MANY applications for the OHV. Try eBay, particularly DB Electrical (they sell on and outside of eBay). I didn't buy from them, but almost did.
