Ok,,first time here. Anyway, i have a '99 with the 5R55E tranny, it has 134,000 miles on it, had a shift kit put in at 65,000 mi.( forgot what the problem then, but it fixed whatever it was) since the shift kit, there has always been a delay going into reverse,,not really a big deal,, But lately it's been lurching sometimes at around 40-50 mph, and sometimes when going up or down the hills here in NEPA,,and sometimes, when the engine is still cold, it seems to take forever to shift from 2-3 going up hill. most of the time all shifts are pretty smooth. Maybe lurching isn't the right word, feels like it's a rough down or up shift. there is no noticable change in rpm's when this happens. Fluid looks and smells ok and isn't low.
Anyone have any ideas about what might be going on and maybe some possible solutions?
Thanx in advance

Welcome to this forum! A valve body end plug kit with O rings, and a new EPC might help with these issues. It's posible that something might not be right with their kit since it happened right after the installation. You might want to read the sticky threads about 2-3 shift flares. Did they use an In/LB 1/4" drive torque wrench to tighten the valve body bolts when they installed the kit?

I've noticed that there's alot of mention about the ones from transgo. Are these the kits you're talking about?

This is an A4LD end plug kit: http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/A4LD_Valve_body_end_plug_kit_1985_95_p/400-05694714k.htm
This is a 4R44E/5R55E end plug kit: http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/4R44E_5R55E_Valve_end_plug_kit_p/400-03794713k.htm

Read the description on both links. It sounds pretty much like the issues you have.
