Recently bought a well used Ranger 2wd, 3.0, 3 speed automatic with 176k from my employer. Started doing maintenance this weekend and took it to autozone to check the codes. Only showing one, p0340 for camshaft sensor circuit which I'm about to go look at.
The problem I need help with is this; While driving back from autozone I began having problems pulling away from stops. The engine would rev but I would barely move. I found that if I put the trans in 1 and shift up to 2 and then D everything seems fine. I then just put it in 1 and went to D before moving, and that seemed fine too. It's like the tranny isn't downshifting by itself. Fluid level is good and has a healthy pink color but I have no idea when it may have been changed. Any ideas on what to look at?
