99 Explorer Middle Dome Light

Im wondering, should my middle cargo *not trunk* dome light turn on when I turn on my front dome lights using the light dimmer in the front?..also, whats the bulb size?

Do you mean the back seat light?

On my 1998 XLT the front seat, back seat and cargo area lights all turn on at the same time, like when the doors are opened.

My back seat light has a central lamp for general lighting as well as two lamps that can be turned on by backseat passengers via switches on the lamp. I have not had to change the lamps in mine, but I did open it up last year to clean the lense and reflectors when I was detailing the interior. I used a very thin pocket knife blade to pry the clear plastic lense off...but be careful and take your time as you want to avoid breaking the tabs that hold the lense in place.

Yes the center one should. The two outer ones activated by switches do not. The center lamp is a type 906 bulb.

The two outer lamps are type 168 bulbs.

i have a problem with my dome lights, for example, wha you turn off the car the dome lights turn on and when you lock the car or activate the keyless entry the dome lights turn off, when i bought my explorer my dome lights works like the other explorers but some months ago when i turn off my explorer my dome lights don't turn on until i open one of the doors

how can i make it works well again?
