I noticed a few days ago I had small puddles of transmission fluid underneath the front passenger side of the truck. The spots are random and not to bad. When I look underneath there is wetness all over the front underside of the truck. I am thinking it's a line but cant find the leak. Can anyone give me advice as to the common trouble spots for these trucks? Where to look ect.

Mine was leaking down the radiator into the plastic cover on the bottom of the radiator. It then leaked out a hole in the passenger side.

Took me a while to pinpoint it as the leak at the inlet didn't look too bad the 1st I checked. I sprayed degreaser and drove it...then it became apparent.

Check the lines that go to the external transmission cooler if you have one. I have a 97 and while I was replacing the radiator found that one of these lines were leaking. I had removed the lower radiator cover under the front end to unbolt the lines from the radiator when I noticed that they were leaking. They are near where the radiator drain is ( right front). There are two rubber hoses with clamps that connect the cooler and the transmission lines together. Check for cracks in the hoses. Mine just needed to have the clamps tightened and the leak stopped. Hope this helps and that is all that is wrong.

Noticed Tranny fluid leaking from passenger front

I noticed tranny fluid leaking from the passenger front, more like dripping onto what looks like the CAT. I just had the Radiator replaced, and reading the thread, i am wondering if the issue is from a seal on the radiator. Any thoughts? it's a 97 XLT 5.0.
