- '99 Explorer XLT
Hi all.
New to this site and new to owning a Ford. Always owned Jeeps and still do.
I've been having problems with my Explorer Xlt (6 cyl. sohc) in the morning when it is cold. It revs real high (3000-4000) when you first crank it over, but than it stalls out. If you let it run with your foot on the gas till it warms up a bit, it will stay running, but with a rough idle. I have since replaced the Idle Air Control valve, but that didn't fix the problem. My "Check engine" Light came on yesterday, so now I am really confused. I don't want to take it to the dealer YET, so they can soak me for a 30 dollar fix. If anyone has ever had this problem, can you let me know what your did to correct it.
Thanks
Cory
