Question for ya. I have a 99 4 dr with the 4L ohv. My repair manual says to use a special fuel pressure gauge/pressure reliever before replacing the fuel filter. Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to replace it without buying this tool
Thanks

Can't do it without the tool. Buy a cheap set of plastic ones. The 3/8 size works best on Ex fuel filter fittings.

The tool slips into the fitting and pushes back some spring clips so you can then pull the fuel filter out. If you damage the fitting on the end of the fuel line, think $$$.

To relieve fuel line pressure so gas does not squirt all over, pull the connector off of the emergency fuel shutoff switch in the passenger footwell - its discussed in your manual - while the truck is running. It will die real quickly. Fuel pressure is now relieved, and you are ready to replace the filter.

Good Luck!

or you can just take the cap off our fuel tank and be set. That's how I do the ones at work.

You can releive pressure by pressing the Schrader valve.

Good luck .........
