Hey everyone, was wondering if some one here could help out with a question. My aunt has a 99 mustang and she has been having problems with it stalling on her. The car keeps dying on her when at low rpms, once she gets up to highway speeds it runs fine. It is not throwing any trouble codes and only does this at low rpms. I'm thinking that it might be a bad fpr or in the ignition, but not really sure. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. She shares this car with her daughter and really needs to get it fixed quick. Btw it is a V-6 with the 5-speed tranny, about 80,000 miles on it.

Have you checked the timing belt? That could cause the low RPM's and cause it to idle low. Does it have trouble starting when off? If so you may want to check the starter or the alternator too.

it's not the starter or the battery. the car cranks over fine. the problem is after the car has been started, when it is idling or running at a low rpm it will stall out. once she gets the car going out on the road it is fine. that is why I am thinking it is in the fuel delivery because the car is not throwing any codes. I was thinking that it might be the fpr and operating temperature doesn't have any effect on when it occurs either. can anybody help me out here. pleeeeeaaaaaassssseeeeeeeee.

This happened to my mom's 99 Jeep GC about 2 weeks ago. The same exact probelms you ar mentioning and hers has about 80k miles on it. I was sure it was something electrical... turns out the water pump had gone bad. Go figure. I would totally take a look at that if I was you. Hope this helps!
