'99 Ranger to '94 B4000

Will these two swap transmissions? Both have type "M" trans on the door frame but I saw in one of the stickys that they may be an r1 and r2 transmission.Are they compatible? Thanks

1988 & Up 4-Cylinder Rangers
1988-1992 2.9L 2WD Rangers
1991-2000 4.0L Ranger
1991 - Up 3.0L Ranger

Door code J = Mazda M50D-R1HD

what you have to consider is the size of the engine. these 5 spd trannys have an integral bellhousing (non-removeable).

the B-4000 Mazda would have been a 4.0. if your 99 Ranger is a 4.0 engine, Okay.

if your 99 Ranger has a 3.9, 2.3 or 2.5........no go....won't fit because of the difference in the bellhousing bolt pattern.

OK Thanks guys... I hit the panic button there for a min.I had already bought the trans off the ranger and pulled it.
