Hi all. I have been monitoring the boards for awhile but I'm new to posting. I Don't have an Exp, but I have its older Brother the BII.

Anyway, on to my question. I'm building a 5.0 and I just bought a T-case adaptor and an out put shaft from ebay that supposedly fits an AOD tranny. It was said that it was from a 4R70W auto. What I'm wondering is will it work and what T-cases will bolt up to it? I don't want the one with AWD, I would like to pick my low range. Thanks :D

I'm a little confused. Did you buy the stock ford adapter or the one from Advanced Adapters? What tranny are you going to put it on?

I bought the stock one. They guy was turing his tranny into a 4x2 and he didn't need it. I'm going to put it on a AOD from an 83 towncar. I hope!

Part Number: RF-F67P-7A040-AA
Thats the number on the Side of it and it has Ford printed on the side too.

You dont want to use the 4r70W output shaft. You'll want to use a different one (check with Stadx2) and get an AA adapter in order to use a t-case with low range. Check a few threads on here about AWD -> 4WD and you'll be needing to do the same thing.

What is wrong with the Output shaft? Is it weak?

If you bought a 4R70W Output shaft and housing, the only thing you can install on it is a All Wheel Drive Transfer case. No...... The stock output shaft is not weak.......... it only can be mated to an AWD t-case.

Good Luck,
Al
