Actually i think you should replace the tstat with the sasme temp. as the one that it came with. That's the way Ford designed the engine to work

192/195 is the OE temp for the thermostat.

After spending a few hours of reading these forums I went and bought a stant thermostat. The top left bolt was tough to get at due to that temp wire? Any tricks on getting by that wire. And did they build the 4.0's in Germany or Just the thermostats/some parts.

Is your truck empty or weighted down with stuff? Could the ebrake be slightly engaged?
