How is everyone here today?

Although I do not have much to contribute as far as expertise is concerned I would like to say I do read the forums, here or elsewhere and am grateful they are available. I have a bit of an issue and am needing help, please.

My 2017 XLT is the best Ford, and the first Explorer I have owned. Its our only vehicle at the moment and it just went out of commission. A month ago i made a poor choice and went to swap a battery with the one I was using in the Exploer in the evening and did not realize the poles were reversed and i connected it. For about 2 or 3 seconds.

I have never felt like such a #$%##*# but I can admit I did it and wont make the same mistake again. Anyhow, the reprocussions were initially a dashboard indicator SRS/Airbag stayed lit and then another issue along with it. The front and read climate control blower motors stay on, the control panel quit functioning, climate control, radio and the led illumination on the panel went out. The only thing working is the hazard button to engage the warning lights. I will note that the screen for backup camera does work but its otherwise useless. This is the low end audio system fyi.

I removed the control panel and the blowers still operate. The only way to turn them off is to disconnect the control module or remove the two fuses unðer the hood. Oh yeah, my other mistake being that I did not take the vehicle in to get repaired.

A few days ago i was out getting firewood, got hung up in some mud for quite a while and when heading home as it started pouring rain I drove though a few decent sized flooded areas of roadway. Later on, a few hours later I get the charging system error.

The warning went off, things seemed fine but eventually in a day or two it would come on every time i started the vehicle. Im at the point now where I cannot drive it too far and quit driving it as the vehicle wont go but 5 or six houses down the road without draining the battery, and it shuts everything off bits at a time.

I scanned some codes and this is what I got, after finding out that i get full voltage from the alternator to the fuse box, but then on the other pole im at 4 or 5 volts. Engine not running either.

I checked the 4way bussman fuse, the 325a, 125a and 100a combination one on the side where the higer voltage connects. I removed it as the 100a bottom left connection had obviously been getting hot as i could see it started slowly melting over time and became crooked.

I need to repair my problem here, ordered the new fuse box fuse (i did blow a few in the passenger compartment initially with the revesing of pole) and and can use my multimeter and am very good and professional at soldering.

Here are the obd2 codes i pulled:

P0625
P065b
P068a
P06e9
P0702 (Transmission would jerk when power. was failing)

I have the service manual with the wiring diagrams too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and If someone can see me through this i can send you some crypto currency for the use of your knowledge this week if you so desire. I can put it in the shop and probobly should when i resolve this just to have it thouroughly checked out.

William.

Actually taking time to read the service manual does wonders and even tells you how to fix it. If you have this same issue and have trouble getting help ill send you a pdf.

Take it easy.
