I was having a few minor issues with the 97 5.0 i bought a week ago.
I noticed 2 things.
1. My temp gauge never went above the C even though my heater would blow nice HOT air.
2. When at an idle and in drive or when going from light gas peddle to hard gas peddle the truck would back fire or bog down. ONLY after the engine was warm.
Solution.
I replaced the temp sensor and the temp sender. "pita to get a wrench on".
Temp reads normal now and the motor runs like a champ with no more issues. Not sure if this is relevant for anybody but thought I would share.
