My 96 explorer started making this noise and the a/c stopped shooting out cold air it just shoots out air like if it was the vents. So i popped the hood and turn the a/c on again and then one of the pulleys, the top right one, started shooting sparks. so i turned off the a/c and it stoped but the belt kept rotating and the pulleys gets stuck and then goes and then gets stuck again. I looked on the Belt diagram that shows how to put on the belt and that says that it is the A/C Clim. What is it, what does it do exactly and how much would it be to get it fixed.

That would be the AC Compressor. Sounds like the clutch is toast. Not sure on the cost of a new clutch, but you need one ASAP. In the mean-time, you should see about swapping your belt for one from a non-AC equipped truck and bypassing the compressor. Some engines can do it, some engines can't... just depends on the layout. On yours, you should be able to bypass it (assuming it's a 4.0 liter)
