What is this thing called? When I plug in the plug that is out, it makes a loud buzz so i have to leave it out, my interior lights or door locks do not work with it not plugged in. Went to two salvage yards today and all of these were stripped, just curious what this is called, and if anyone knows what the problem is.

P.S. This is above the drivers side rear wheel, if you didn't already know.

It looks like that's called a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) sending unit. I would guess It's similar to the RAP module in the 95+ Explorers.

Here is the closest stuff I could find, hopefully someone with a similar year truck can tell you more.
