No power to A/C clutch, on 2001 Explorer Sport. Had to pull motor to fix Timing chain issues. I put in a new Pump, Evap., and Tube while it was out and easy to change. It was non-working when I bought the vehicle.

I vacuumed down. But when I went to fill the clutch would not engage. I've so far check all fuses, and changed out relay. Tried disconnecting high side and put a jumper on low side switch plug. But no voltage to clutch.

Going to start tracing power circuit. But was wondering if if anybody knew of something else that would lock the system out (like when I found the heater don't work with the A/C clutch is unplugged), or maybe a common problem to look for???

Can anybody save me from possible hours of wire tracing??

I think you need to leave the high side plugged in or jumper it too. If i remember the switches are run in a series circuit. That way if either swith trips, for too high pressure or too low pressure, the clutch shuts off.

What are you using to recharge the system?

Thanks for reply Matt. I hadn't test with both jumped yet. Had a brain fart that both were (NO) switches. Switch test OK. And had jumped the low while high side plugged in. Jumped both anyways but no luck.
With A/C turned on have incoming power on both coil and switch side of relay. So guess that I'll have to start tracing down stream from the relay.
