My wife's '03 blew an A/C line last night. A/C worked perfect up until then. I repaired the line today and tried to recharge the system with no luck. Is it possibly the condenser is also shot?

Why did it blow a line? Should draw a vac on the system as well since its was exposed and may be contaminated with moisture.

How did you try to recharge it? You have to kick up the rpm's when recharging.

Reds.. no rain etc for the last 24 hours since the blow.........corrosion caused the hole, not so worried about moisture.

Tower- held it at 3000 rpm for about 15 min....no change. In my 98, 15 min and it was fully charged and ice cold...at idle..

I'm at a loss....:(

I think you should change the pressure switch. You also might want to have the system evacuated to remove moisture.

You need to pull a vac and see if there are any leaks. While under VAC hook up the bottle of 134 to you guages and open the bottle. Turn the bottle up side down then open the valve on your guage. Leave open till you no longer hear the 134 passing threw the guage. Then shut the valve on your guage and start the car. Turn the ac on max with full fan and service to proper pressure.

This is the proper way to service. The ac will not turn on the compressor till it reaches around 25psi. If you can not vac then you will have major issues.
