Tying to diagnose a problem with the A/C and heater. Most of the air is blowing out of the defroster no matter which setting is chosen with the control switch. Does anyone have any ideas on what to check?

Has anyone put in a new A/C system into a 2002 Explorer 6 cyl and if so, how did you do it and what did it cost?

We found the problem. While trying to trace the vacuum lines we discovered that the linkage for the panel-defrost door was broken. Thanks to all who responded with suggestions. It helped us find the problem. I also used another post on the site to see the 5 minute fix and we awere able to get the door repaired.
