I've noticed a drop in the volume of air blown trhough my A/C system, is there an incoming air filter, like the ones used in several modern cars? my explorer is a 1999 XLT

other than a clogged evaporator, where else could a restriction to airflow be present?, my blower motor seems to work as always (sounds about the same as usual)

A/C temp is normal, only air volume has diminished.

thanks.

There is no filter, but outside air is drawn in from the cowling below the windshield. Make sure it's not clogged with leaves, pine needles and such. Also, when it's on max air it draws air from inside by the passenger foot well. I once had a plastic bag sucked up in there restricting the flow. Just a thought.

thanks, BTW the max position is broken, when selected the compressor sometimes turns off rendering the system useless, so I never use it, could it be a simple issue or should I just ignore it?

There isn't a cabin filter, as nice as it mighht be to have one. Sorry if I'm threadjacking, but has anyone installed one?
