A few good questions on X lighting

i have lots of questions on lighting for my x, the first is how do i replace the rear right blinker in my 94? do i have to take the whole rear plastic panel to remove it?

my second question is, i am adding all blue lights in my x so far i have almost all of them, how do i take off the cover for the rear dome light to replace the light?

also in my front dome light i have a 194 blue light... will a bigger bulb make it brighter? if so ...what size light?

ok last question. i just bought some super blue halogen lights for my x. i want that bright blue look of sports cars... is it just that they dont look blue to me or are they not the lights i need?

To replace the rear right blinker, yes you have to take the whole plastic piece off. Open the gate, and there are two screws that you have to take off, then you just have to pull the lens out. Its tough at first, and it will seem like you shouldn't pull it cuz its gonna break, but just keep pulling.

Ok, well you're asking so much questions which I could probably answer some of them. Well I have the blue or superwhite lights, however you want to call them, but I don't think they have a bigger size bulb for the interior dome light just the 194, I have 194 size on my dome light and it's also blue, but don't get a lot of brightness out of it. The trunk dome light?? It's a killer!!!!!!!!!! I can't change it myself either, every time I want to go mess with it, it seems like the ceiling carpeting is going to just tear off, I've gotten quite a few answers from asking but I don't get it. if you want blue or super white headlights, get the Xenon Halogen Bulbs, or the Eurolitz. Hope I've helped

hey thanks man, but i figured out how to take out the back dome light. i finally figured it out

it is a plastic piece shoved inside a metal ring. to take it out:
if you are looking at it from the rear cargo door
on the left side of the light, pull down slightly with a small screw driver, until u can barely see the metal ring.
they plastic piece is held in by a part of the plastic pushing aginst the metal ring. i just pushed the "wedge" looking piece in and the plastic comes off
hope this helps...i am not good at explaing things or spelling for that matter.

the bulb is some weird one with wires hanging on to 2 metal hooks. be careful not to shock yourself takeing the bulb out. i just found a 1221 or 1212 bulb in blue and stuck it in there it is not the right one i belive because it has no wire hooks but is looks cool although slightly purple for some reason


what else have you done with your lights?
i have all mine except the door ones in blue

I have a 97 and they just pop off with a screw driver like the front dome on does but mine aren't 194's they are like 921's or something the door ones are 194 though hope this helps im going for the same effect but with neon lights and indiglo guage!

Ok, here's what i've done to my truck according to lights.

The First thing I did was change my headlights..
Got Eurolitz, Superwhite, but they look blue.

2) Changed License Plate Bulbs to Hyperwhite as well

3) Got Hyperwhite sidemarkers on my 94 X

4) Changed Dome light to Blue

5) Changed Door Panel bulbs to Hyperwhite (you know hyperwhite and blue mixed together looks really great.)

6) Change Orange Turning Signals to Clear Turning Signals.. Got Hyperwhite bulb for turning signal and the corner bulb of the turning signal is blue... Looks awesome..

The only sucker is the trunk dome light,, now that you've explained to me, I'll go try it and see if I can do it.
One guy told me that they didn't have colored bulbs for replacement of the trunk dome light, so what he did was put colored paper, you know the one they use on stages for changing colors on lights? Well he put a purple one and everyone thought it was a colored bulb so you can be creative on that bulb.....

Answering your question about how to change your door panel bulbs..

I took the door panel off and grabbed the wire where it holds the bulb pulled and the bulb just came off but make sure someone is with you to hold the button which keeps the lights shut off.. Cause you know when the door is open all the dome lights are on, and I don't think you want to get burned by those tiny bulbs, and boy do they hurt....

but how do you get the door pannel off? it is glued in isn't it?
