A little advise....front differential

My trac has a very loud grinding sound at all speeds.....not brakes, not anything on tires or wheels.....I jacked the truck up....spun the drive shaft and have a noise coming from the u-joint right where it connects to the front differential....Any one have this happen...and anyone have advise....I have seen rebuild kits for the differential truck is a2003 trac....thanks for any advice....

Is the noise coming from the drom diff/ gears or the u-joint? If it sounds like a tinny metal grinding, squealing then it's the u-joints. If it's the front gears then it'll be a low growl. U-joints are easy to replace yorself and really cheap if you need a shop to do it for you.
