A Quest To Overhaul MY Engine :D

When we did the built on my truck we were going to do it w/out opening the a/c.. When we got to the point of pulling the motor we changed our minds.. I don't have any way to capture the r-134 so we loosened (I mean 1/2 turn at the most) the one fitting on the a/c that uses a regular wrench. I let it sit for a while (about 30 minutes) until the pressure was gone.. Then I checked at a shrader valve to make sure there was no pressure, then we removed the a/c system.

I don't know if your truck has a wrench connection like mine does, but if it does, thats the easy way to release it.

well i pushed in the pin on the valve thats on the left side and in about 2 mins it was all gone nothing ells comes out:confused: is there another valve on the right or something i cant find any and if there is do i have to release preshure from there too?

You don't have to release the pressure from both sides.. if one side is empty, the other side is also..

i decided to work on my truck again at 11pm pulled out the lower intake and baged and taged the screws finished at 11:15

Since I got this recall letter yesterday about the Red Speed Control Switch that can ignite itself, it was the first thing I noticed. You might as well add this to the to-do list.

thanks man ill go see if i can get that from ford friday :D

Question can all of these screws im taking off be put back on without a torque wrench?

still need to go price a engine puller a transmission jack, car stands and a car jack :\ i had a good car jack but it stoped going up and down X_x anyone have a idea on what id expect to be paying for all that ?

how safe are car stands i dont like to work under a car knowing the only thing holding it up is 2 stands even the largest stands i seen dont look that great since i have never done none of this work before expect me to be forcing jaming and shoving parts under the car and ill expect some shifting and movement can i count on stands?

Jack stands are more recommended then depending on your truck sitting up on just the Jack and safer than doing that, don't use blocks or bricks neither because they could bust out while your in the middle of doing something.

Well i removed the transmission oil pan but thats about all today... :thumbdwn:

Could i use 2 ton stands? cause a friend of mine said he will give me his stands or should i purchase something along the lines of 3 - 6 tons

2tons should work just inspect them before use make sure they lock in place good so you dont have the chance of the truck falling on you!

well i went to autozone and got me some nice heavy duty 6 ton stands :D best of all i got them free :D the retail was $40 on them but since i have a autozone card aparently i had 40$ in discounts on the cards so total cost for today $3 in gass

Oh i allso broke a socket wrench trying to remove the fuel rails aparently the screws where in tight .. hmm maybe i should buy better qualaty tool... Who knows.

i shaked my thermostat wich is about 5 months old and it makes a ratleing noise and i have never heard a thermostat make that noise so i ispected it and apartently on the top iner liner there is like a Hole with like a peace of metel sticking up shaking around but it looks like if its suopse to go like that?

NEED HELP FAST i decided to take off the fuel rails but when i pulled them up the injectors are stuck inside the rails so i then decided to disconnect the fuel injectore wire clips but i cant manage to get them off i remember gething them off last year and broke a clip...

so then i said what the heck lemme just yank out all the wiring from the egine .. 5 hours with breaks of disconnecting and labeling wires and i still cant manage to get all the whole wiring unit out :thumbdwn: it seams that behind the engine there are 4 connectors that i have to remove 2 on each side and i cant remove it not only do i not know how to disconnect it but its verry hard to reach it so when i do i cant be there forever tinkering with it.. it has to be posible to remove those wires anyone have any ideas how?

PS. tomorrow is my birthday so i wont be working on my truck :salute:
