A question for 5 speed explorer owners

Hello all,
I am going to have to replace the clutch in my '93 and was looking for opinions on clutches. Are the more expensive aftermarket clutches worth the money? Are any of the clutch kits listed on ebay any good? Or would my best bet be to stick with ford?

When It came time for me to replace my clutch, I bought the clutch disc for around $70, if I remember right, then I just got the flywheel resurfaced. Now the clutch grabs like new again. BTW I also bled my hydraulic line which helped out quite bit.

Replace the throwout bearing and the slave cylinder while it is apart. It is money well spent.

Thanks for the replies guys. Actually, the slave cylinder is the reason I'm changing the clutch. It's leaking, and since I have to pull the transmission I'm going to replace the cluth/pressure plate/throwout bearing/pilot bearing.
I was just curious if anyone had any brands/names to stay away from; Advance auto parts has a complete set minus the slave cylinder for $195, a company on ebay has a set with Hyd. Cyl for ~$210 with shipping.

I had the clutch kit from Center force. Never had any problems with it. I got the slave cylinder from Ford. I suggest you get the Ford one. Others have a tendency to not fit correct, or not bleed right. Save yourself the trouble & spend the extra $$ on the Ford part. Also be aware the throwout bearing is part of the slave cylinder. You can not get a sepreate one. Another reason to stay with the Ford part. Also suggest you resurface the flywheel or replace it. Also replace the rear main seal even if it's not leaking.
