How can you tell if your trans cooler is plugged. If it is, could I flush it out or get a new one?

I was wondering if mine was plugged to cause i just replaced my tranny and reverse will not engauge, just wondering if the psi is not 100%..I was going to just install a cooler to be sure.

Disconnect the lines and run the motor a few and see if fluid is flowing.

Good luck.

That stuff is like calling in the miniature fire department!

In the OEM cooler, what would the exit arc of the solution be, so as to be sure whether or not there is a permanent restriction somewhere?

What do you do to then flush out the "flush out"?

Thanks for your help.:salute:

Don't worry about the small amount of cleaner that is left inside of the cooler. Its job is to flush out left over debris from the old system. A drop of cleaner won't harm anything just as long as it's a clean chemical, and not a mixture of old junk. You could use compressed air to blow the cleaner out if you want.
