A4LD Modulator Valves, best pick?

Have had a major slipping into first gear when cold and rough transition into second gear for some time. Decided to change filter and fluid hoping to solve problem. Like so many others I have found a leaking diaphragm. In my search for a new valve I have found my local auto parts stores not finding the part by application. Refering me to OEM - $156. Therefore, I turned to my trusty computer for research.Through some of the sights I've been to I have found aftermarket valves offered. Question: Have there been problems with certain manufacturers? Is this why the parts stores can't go by application? I finally came up with the OEM #E5TZ-7A377C to give my parts man to cross. I have ordered the TM74 Motorcraft valve - $26, which had to be shipped from Texas. ?? Is this valve an adjustable valve? Is it to my advantage to have it adjustable? If so, what is the procedure for adjustment. Am I headed in the right direction?
