A4LD Modulator

I've done my homework and got a D-. I've searched about 70 posts and am trying to find some info on the correct modulator for my A4LD tranny. Local parts have 2 listings; $15.99 and $34.99. They can't/won't tell me the difference other than manufacturer. I know from painful experience that wrong or inferior parts give me a morning headache. Haynes is no help.

Ask to see both. One may be the adjustable version which lets you fine-tune it. Not necessary for most people. Make double sure you get the right modulator. I believe a C3 modulator is sometimes mistakenly prescribed by parts stores but that will not work right, you need one made for an A4LD. Check online, I got mine from RockAuto for a good price.
