The solenoid connector is closer to the front. The one for the reverse lights (neutral safety switch) is a little behind it. Some have 4 pins, and others have 5 pins. The solenoid connector has 3 pins with the 2 solenoid A4LD built after 87. 88 started the 2 solenoid VB. It's possible that the screens could be clogged.

Hey should I go ahead and get a new governor also, or should I just clean the old one up and get a new weight??The new governor is around $28.Also the transfer case goes into 4hi but not 4 low.I can hear the 4 hi relay clicking but not the 4 low relay.Since I am pulling the transfercase off to repair the governor, should i take the 4X4 motor off to clean and regrease??

If you can replace the governor with a new one for $28 go for it. As for cleaning the 4X4 shift motor, that is your call.

The governor "stalk" is aluminum and the weight is steel... the part on the stalk that the weight slides on can get gnarly and so it is best to at least replace that part is you are having sticking problems.

One more question before I order parts.Do I need a gasket between the transmission and transfercase when I pull the governor out???

Yeah from bulk parts the governor is $28
