a4ld tranny problem

yo i have an auto on my truck and i had it rebuilt at 118,000 the guy who didi it told me no way that truck was going to plow snow . i live in new york on a private road about 1/4 long and just plow that. well i plowed twice with it and the thing messed up again destroyin the whole inside of the tranny. is there anyone out there who plows with thier truck that dosent have problems with their tranny . also i was thinkin of switchin to a 5 speed any recomendations on this . thanks

Well you found out the hard way. The al4d is a POS!! I would be swapping in a manual if i were in your position. Better then rebuilding for the 3rd time.

I was thinking about switching to the 5speed, I had to change out my tranny today..The machanic said that even though the A4LD is crap the 5speed is even WORSE...I dont ilke those odds....

i have recently gotten my tranny rebuilt by lee myles and so far so good i have a year of plowin and towing on the tranny now . but it cost alot to beef the front end up to support the wieght

what kind of manual 5spd tranny problems have you heard about? I have the manual 5spd in mine and have never had a single problem..not one!

As for plowing....like Joey said....make mods to the front end!
