Abbreviations?

I have a request please. Could someone " in the know" put in the List of Useful Threads a list of the abbr.'s and what they stand for. I am new to all the 4x4 terminology. i.e. SAS, AAL etc. Thanks

TTB= Twin Torsion Bar

TTB= Twin traction beam 91-94 Explorers, all B2's and Rangers, 83-97
TB= Torsion Bar, SLA suspension Explorers 95-present? Rangers 98+, I think

might get confusing. Second generation Explorers are equiped with IFS - Independent Front Suspension. Torsion bars are main parts of this set-up. Usually to achieve 2" - 2.5" of lift in the front people adjust these bars... that's called Torsion Twist TT. Therefore TT is nothing else but this...

Then with this set-up you can add AAL in the back to level the truck. Add A Leaf

That's for second generation Explorers.... of course you can also convert front to straight axle... SAS Straight Axle Swap

First generation X would use some lift. SAS is possible too. Usually with 6" of lift in the front you can simply throw rear leaf packs over the axle to achieve 6" of lift in the back. Therefore SOA Spring Over Axle...
