? about painting running boards????

So i took it to my body shop today to get a price on it and he said he doesnt know if he can paint them yet cause some of those boards were made with some type of plastic that u cant paint on.... Is that true cuz these are factory molded running boards and i really want to get them done. Also he said he rather me take them off because he doesnt want to take the chance of breaking the bolts and all since there rusted on...

Are they hard to remove????

He told me 170 bucks to paint them, Is that a good price??????

does that include prepping them for paint, like sanding, then painting? i plan on doing mine my self, i have some minor scratches in mine from going on trails, i planned on lightly sanding them enough to get the scratches out, then cleaning them, then masking them off, cause i decided not to take them off my explorer, then painting them...im not a pro painter, but it shouldnt be that hard of a job, just my 2 cents worth

The rust likely WILL make them hard to remove. Get a can of PB Blaster soak it well and let it sit over night. Wear a pair of gloves and watch your knuckles !!!!!

$135.00 per side is a decent price. It is not a deal but they arent taking you to the cleaners either.
