About to buy a 1999 Explorer - Please help

1. Common issue. My moneys on the front sway bar bushings.

2. There is a fix on here somewhere that just involves a spring, but I replaced my door latch assy. I think it was about $80.00 and an hour of labour. Minor swearing involved.

3. The deck is very easy to change. Wiring adapter, and mounting adapter. Very easy.

Congratulations on your purchase. Sounds like the major stuff has been taken care of already. There will be small issues as its not a new vehicle.

Cheers for the advice.

Is there any further diagnosis I can do to confirm if it's the sway bar bushings or not? And if it is, is it a big job and what should I expect to pay to get that fixed?

I've seen the handle fix info on here, seems doable even for me. I might give it a go at the same time when I'm upgrading the speakers.

For the sway bar, look here:

On yours, if you look at the end links you will see spaces in the rubber to metal on one or both ends. that's whats causing the clunking.

If you have a sawsall its a really easy job. Just cut the end links off.

This is on my list of to-do's also. I save some of the same noises happening.
