ABS diagnostic connector location

I'm sorry if I'm missing a piece of information that's already available here, but I've been searching all over the forums and haven't found it, and my allergy medicine isn't helping my clarity of thought much either...

I'm looking for the location of the ABS diagnostic connector on a '95 Explorer. The ABS light is on and never goes off. I'm fairly sure that I just have a standard case of a bad speed sensor in the rear axle, but would like to pull any ABS codes first.

You just use the port under the steering column, but you'll need a special code reader. A standard one wont do the trick.

So there's no way to ground out a diagnostic connector and get the ABS light to flash codes like on the first-gen Explorer?

Oh wow, yea I was thinking 2nd gen for some reason. Disregard everything I said and stand by for someone that knows what theyre talkin about to chime in.

No you've got it right. I'm working on a second-gen (95), not the one in my sig. I was just under the assumption that the ABS controller in a '95 model could still be prodded into flashing codes through the ABS fault indicator lamp. If I need a full-blown ABS code reader to plug into the CAN port, that's a bummer.

95 is obd1 just like your 91, so im still just as wrong =/
