For about the past 3-4 months my ABS light has been on. It stays off for random periods of time when I start driving, anywhere from 1-5 minutes usually. Around the same time my ABS started to intermittently come on while braking as well. At first it was when slamming on the brakes a little and it'd last maybe a couple seconds and go away for a few days. More recently it's started to become a bigger problem. It came on for a good 30 seconds of braking today when I was driving through my neighborhood. What the hell could be causing this?

Both front wheel bearings have been replaced by Firestone in the past 5000ish miles. I'm guessing my alignment is WAY off because in the last 8k miles, the inside of my front tires wore down to almost bald while the outsides still have a solid amount of tread. I'm not sure if that could cause an ABS problem. I'd be happy to give any other info if someone thinks it'd help. I'm gonna take it to Firestone tomorrow but just wondering if someone might have had this problem before.

Edit: I should probably also say that there's absolutely nothing on the road that should cause ABS to come one. Dry pavement, no gravel, nothing out of the ordinary.

the fact your front bearings were recently replaced makes me wonder if something happened to the front sensors. You may want to pull them and inspect and clean. Not sure how many local junkyards you have there in Bozeman, but you could try getting some of those cheap and replace them as well and see if that helps. The rear sensor is also an easy replace. If you have a scanner, you can read the codes to see what is causing the problems. If not, a brake shop may do this for free, not sure though.

Sometimes the chopper wheel or sensor gets gunked up with brake dust other crap.
Give them a clean and check the wiring to the sensors.
