ok, have some odd issues, i've had my 96 EB truck for a few months now, it runs fine, no issues, tho the normal idle when i bought it was around 500 rpms, and now its closer to 1000, i could be wrong but its a little higher then it was, other then that, runs fine, my issues are, every so often my abs light comes on, no issues breaking or anything, the fluid is full, so it comes on once in a while, will drive with it on, then turn it off, then back on later and its off, thats the issue there
my other issue, my doors no longer auto lock when i start driving, they work when i press the button or use my clicker, when i first got the truck it didnt do this, but then started auto locking when i started driving, then it stopped one day, so dont know where to look into whats wrong

and my question is, whats the best spark plugs to use for the best fuel on it? my wife likes the plat 4 one's but i've heard that the normal plugs work best
any help there?

For the ABS light, at least in my case, I replaced the rear sesnor (on top of the differential) and then it was okay. About a year later, the light came on again and I replaced the front sensors, and now all okay again. I got the front sensors from a local pull yard, so they were not too much and if I had to pay the full price at an auto store or dealer I probably would have tried pulling them and cleaning first.

For the door lock, there is a sequence you go through with ignition key or electronic door coder, I would have to look it up, maybe somehow you are hitting the sequence to change... otherwise, I don't know.

Plugs I use motocraft platinum or autolite platinum, I have no trouble with either.

Door auto lock sequence is in the manual. Get yours free Dead Link Removed if you don't have one. Page 116.

Spark plugs - I used Autolite XP104 (for V8 5.0L) - they are Iridium fine tip, their top product. BTW, Autolite makes also the Motorcraft plugs, but those are just regular platinum.

page 116 talks about the ac controls

ended up being 155 :)

Blindly replacing parts may work -- or may be a lot of work with no results. Get the ABS codes read. It takes a scanner with 'body and chassis' capability, so the one that Autozone uses probably won't cut it, but any half-decent auto repair shop has a fully capable scaner.

Hey, close enough :)

I did double check now - in the manual for my 2001 is at page 116. I assumed that on your 96 is the same.

finally got around to trying the lock thing in the manual, unfortunately it only deactivated it, never reactivated :(
