What happened; 1997 Ford Explorer rear brake line crossover rusted out while out on the road. Had to drive it home lost all brake fluid.

Replaced rusted crossover line and added brake fluid and pumped air out of brake lines at the calipers.

ABS light comes on with a noise coming from under the hood. OK ABS must have air in the unit.

How do you get this corrected?

Thanks

Greg

Purging air out of the ABS requires using a scanner with bi-directional ABS capability. It's a hit and miss for aftermarket scanners, even the advanced ones, because the software routine for ABS purging is model-specific and may not cover older vehicles.
You may need to take it to a dealer. If you go to an independent shop, ask them in advance (and make sure to mention the model year).

Thanks for the info.

Not a fix I can do in the garage.
