ABS light is on.

93 xpl with 293 k miles, v6, auto. replaced the front brake rotors, all is well except the abs light on the dash won't go off. any ideas ? Also in the manuel it says if the light is on, the abs system is inoperative. Is this true and do I care?

could be a bad sensor or something. try to disconnect the battery for 10 mins and see if it goes away. or low on brake fluid? just get rid of the ABS.
