Well the title pretty much says it. ABS light came on, checked power distribution block large fuse #3 was good. Inside fuse panel checked mini fuse 14 10A was bad so I replaced it. Started my x and the starter continued to run in the on key position then the fuse blew. Maybe someone on here could explain why that would be. Noise from the ABS pump too. Thanks for any help, need to get my speedo workin.

No ideas anyone? Thought there were some gurus on here!! LOL.

I also have the ABS light on since my mother gave me the SUV. I would like to clean out the sensor first before putting money into the car. Does anyone know where the sensor is located? Pictures or diagrams would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

the sensor on the front is on the hub. look where your fog lights plug in there is another wire there follow it and it runs down to the hub that is the ABS sensor. The rear one is on the diff ontop. Possible your hubs/wheel bearings are going out. might need to get them change out. my light is on right now as well and was on this time last year and that was the cause bad hub which i neglected and led to it breaking into two pieces. wouldve been bad driving down the highway.

Thank you for the heads up. My explorer does not have fog lights, can I see it by just removing the tire? if so how should I clean it? Another thing I do hear some type of noise from the rear of the truck but I was always told it was the tires.I've always said it was the wheel bearing. What's your take on it?

Yes with the tire off youll see it. Itsontop on the backside. As of cleaning it not sure its just a magnet.

The rear could be lots of things ujoints gears axle axle shafts ect...

This info has definatly put me on the right track Thanks RANGRAYY!!!!!!!!!!

Thats just waked. I dont know of any relation between those systems.
This could sound a little off the wall but, you got a lot of squirrels in your neighborhood? Two of my buddies had squirrels get up under the hood and chew on wires and cause all kinds of problems. Look around under the hood and under the truck for wiring damage. Is there some relation to the speedo? Is that cable cut under the truck someplace?

I hope you can find the problem or you may need to call an exorcist.

Bob

Also I should have all the wiring diagrams for that. If you need something just post here.
