When I got my X, the ABS light was on but "nothing was wrong"...eventually out of no where my pass side hub blew out one day. Fixed it, the light went away ever since. Dunno if that helps any, but my experience. gl
One of the ABS sensors is probably malfunctioning. It is probably a front sensor. Ford will want you to replace the hub, but I remember seeing a few threads where you can replace just the sensor, not sure if it is actually possible, but it might be worth a try. Also a Ford dealer can scan and pull the ABS codes.
