I just put a superlift ( 4in ) on my 2000 ex. Since then my ABS light has stayed on. Is there a reset for the light or not? Have already disconnected the battery and no help. Is there something I may have done wrong or overlooked? Also have a shimmy at 70 mph, alignment man said that ford has been known for this if you turn the wheels without the motor running. Seems to pump air in the lines. Is this true?
Thanks

That's why he is an alignment man - anyhow; no spinning the wheels will not cause air to get into the lines. There's no possible way for that to happen. Anyhow, when the ABS light is on that means there is an issue with the ABS system. Read up on the ABS system here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152576

If you or someone else installed the kit - maybe they didn't hook up a sensor. Also, if you can't figure it out - scan the system and get the codes. A lift kit shouldn't allow the light to come one unless something wasn't reconnected. Hope that helps

possible blown ABS fuse..check in themanual under fuses and see what number it is and check it out

I was told there is a sensor the the rear axle that goes bad. Mine is on also, I have already swapped my hubs in the fron, so its not those.

I would check the fuse. And then go on the check all wiring. Including the rear on top of the diffy.

or pull the codes and save yourself time

You cant pull the codes thru the obd. It has its own computer

Same thing is happening to mine. I just finished up my spindle and aal shackle lift and since i put it on the abs light has been on. The abs systems works just fine its working as it should. Sometimes when i get in the light is off but comes on in a little. The computer at auto zone cant read abs stuff they told me. Is the fuse located under the hood?

it should be on the driver side fuse panel. On a ranger its number 14..Im not sure what it is on the explorer. Just look in the manual and find the abs fuse. Lifting the vehicle has nothing to do with the VSS on the diff or the ABS in the spindles unless the sensor was not properly reinstalled with the new suspension parts.

I've heard the rear sensor is a common problem ... it went out on mine. Quick, easy and cheap replacement.

which is accessible through the DLC - you just have to have the right scanner, that's all. Not that hard to do

Tip: on OBD-II vehicles, and probably even before then, EVERYTHING is tied into the PCM. EBCM, GEM, and any other computer interface are tied into the PCM. If you have a Snap-On Modis, you will put in your VIN and then either go into Drivetrain/Powertrain set up or go into others like GEM and ABS. You are limited only by your money and your scanner

Found out why my abs light was on there was air in the houses so i bleed them and its off now.
