HI all... I was driving to work the other day and out of the blue my ABS light came on. It remained on steadily until I got to work. (I drive about 10 miles). Turned off the truck, went in to work to deal with it later. Came out, turned the truck on and it came on like usual then turned off. About 2 miles down the road it came on again. Any ideas? Dirty sensor? Help?

im not really good with this stuff, but when mine came on it was my abs bearing so its a possibility.

Same symtom on mine turned out to be the Rear ABS sensor that went bad. Dealer hooked up a scanner and found the code set.

It is not blinking or anything , just comes on when it feels like. Should I just wait until I take the truck in to get it checked or do it now?

Same problem here ABS light after 60k miles. Rear ABS sensor, dealer says he sees it all the time. I think it's about $250 incl. labor.

same problem here..blinked for about 6 mos now stays on steady...bout 3 mos ago they told me it's the sensor on top of the differential.. 75.00 for the sensor...i'll put it on myself...or someone suggested try cleaning the contacts.

I have had my ABS light on for 3 months steady now. It started coming on intermittantly and abs kicking in on a very slow stop etc when it shouldn't have. Then it went out and all was fine for a little while. Then it came on and has been on ever since. I read thru all of the threads here and tried the possible fixes. I jumped the switch on the master cylinder with a pin...I pulled the speed sensor out of the rear differential and tested it for OHM resistance(there was so it should be fine). I even noticed the fluid down some in the reserviour and filled it up. Still have the light on.
Also...cruise was not turning on with the On button but when I tried something that someone else said( using the on and coast button it does turn on and works fine with increase and coast and shut off etc.).
One other recent annoyance ( now that I need it) is the rear defrost is not working. I hear a click when I push the button near the the area where the fuses and relay's are in the passenger compartment so I think it may be the relay. Problem is the relays are supposed to be behind the fuse panel and I can't seem to get at them....and the manual says have serviced by technician. One thing after another.
