Abs Light

THE ABS light on my girlfriends 93 explore is on any thoughts on why this is any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Did the light just pop on? or was there something done to the truck or recently happen to it?

Welcome to this forum! Do you see any flashes when you turn the key? The flashing light will represent a stored code. Another thing to do is to get the code read. Not every scanner is capable of reading these codes.

first thing i would do is check the fuse.

If you can't get any codes (like mine) i would pull the sensor and Ohm test it. Find out if its bad or not. The sensor is on top of the rear pumpkin and i believe it's a 1/2". While it's out it can't hurt to wipe off the end either if it tests out well.

My ABS is currently not working, but I pulled the fuse to play it safe because from time to time my brakes wouldn't engage fully when it was on the fritz.

Look under the hood, locate the brake booster area, make sure everything is plugged in.

I had a buddy who's ABS light was on, we were looking at his engine (not for abs light) because we were doing an oil change and cleaning it up, I noticed a plug, found where it went, and put it in. Problem solved.

check your brakes front and rear if your pads are low when you hit the brake the abs light may come on because the comp thinks there is a problem with the system.

thanks parker rocker but what r the oms supposed to be when i check it? And thanks every body for the help haven't checked it out yet but I'll let you guys know how it goes thanks.
