ABS ring "fell off" front hub

Hi, 1998 Explorer 2WD is having front wheel bearings replaced at a Les Schwab. The store called and said while he was pounding out a race, the ABS tone ring (sensor) fell off... he didn't touch it, it just fell off.
Has anyone had one "fall off" before ?
They are expecting me to pay for a new rotor.
It was fine when I drove it in, shouldn't they pay for the rotor ?

i think the cost of the new rotor is going to be on you. i doubt the shop did anything wrong. **** just happens sometimes.
