I have a broken ABS ring gear on my right rear corner.

Does anyone have experience replacing, is it as simple as it looks?

the ring should be intregal with the half-shaft.

the shaft replacement isn't too hard. the bolts are in the 200 ft lb range and you need to replace the axle nut, outboard toe-link nut, 3 wheel knuckle bolts, and the lower arm out board bolt.

if you want the actual directions PM me with an email and i'll send them.

I had them both rears replaced under the extended warranty - It was around 500.00 for both. He said the ABS rings are "pressed" on the halfshaft, start to rust and break.

Finished the replacement of the ABS Ring gear.

Thank you CJ for the directions...

I was able to buy only the Ring Gear ($38 Can at the dealer). I borrowed Tools (Hub puller and deep sockets for the Axle nut and shaft) from the Local Canadian Tire store through their loan a tool program (there are some US parts suppliers who will do the same).

About 2 hours for the whole job

I heated the Ring on the element of my Kitchen Stove and tapped it into place. It cooled off, tightened up and the system is now functioning perfectly!

no prob. glad to have been able to help.
