Hi All....
I haven't posted for a while but still use the forum a lot.

After my 97 explorer failed its MOT on corroded brake pipes, I decided to change the pipes myself (got all of the sizes from here).

Everything went well but after bleeding the brakes and starting her up, the ABS warning light is on.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be the case?

Cheers.....Derek

Hi,

Is it possible that you let air into the ABS block. I've heard that thay are hard to bleed properly and that may throw a check light? I'm just guessing though.

Another suggestion is that some wiring got disturbed while routing the new pipework? Of course there is always 'coincidence'!

Good luck sorting anyway.

Thanks, I think you might've right about the air getting in.
I have bought some more brake fluid and I am going to give it another bleed tomorrow.

Cheers....Derek

Sorry it has taken a while to get back to this....

I changed the break fluid and gave the whole system an extensive bleed and everything is good.

As ever, thanks to everyone and anyone who gets involved with this forum.

I have just signed up as a serious explorer (well overdue) and I will put some pics up of my Ex later tonight.

Cheers....Derek
