2002 Mountaineer V8 Has trailer brake add on

Yesterday my ABS light came on and stayed on until I got home. Today it came on when started and after about 5 minutes driving it went off. I stopped at a light and upon going again it came back on. I checked the fluid and it was maybe 1/4" below the full line.

Will this throw an OBD code?

There might be a code stored. Does the light remain on or flash? You'll need a scanner which is capable of reading these type of codes.

It looks like it comes on when started and stays on for about 5 minutes then goes off for a few miles and comes back on and stays on until I turn the truck off. When it is on it is steady on, not flashing. I have an OBD2 tester I will hit it with this weekend. Was just wondering if this is a common failure mode.
